Healthcare: Access, Maternal Health, Mental Health, and Family-Building Support
Healthcare should be accessible, affordable, and close to home. Families shouldn’t have to drive hours or wait months to get the care they need—and they shouldn’t be priced out of starting a family.
What I’ll fight for
·Expanded access to affordable healthcare in both towns and rural areas across District 2.
·Protecting and strengthening maternal health and evidence-based reproductive care.
·Support for mental health services and a stronger local provider network so families can get care without long waits or long drives.
·Healthcare should be accessible, affordable, and close to home. Families shouldn’t have to drive hours or wait months to get the care they need—and they shouldn’t be excluded from starting a family through assisted reproductive therapies such as IVF.
What it looks like in practice
·Supporting initiatives that increase local access points for care and reduce shortages.
·Backing policies that improve maternal outcomes and ensure women have safe, evidence-based options.
·Strengthening mental health availability by supporting workforce growth and access pathways.
·Advocating for reasonable insurance standards and coverage options that include infertility evaluation and treatment, so family-building care isn’t only for the wealthy.
How we measure progress
·Shorter wait times and reduced travel burden for care.
·Stronger local provider availability for primary and mental health services.
·Increased access to infertility benefits and more families able to pursue treatment without catastrophic out-of-pocket costs.
·Improved maternal health outcomes and clearer access to needed services.
